About Falkenberg Strandbad

The tradition of Falkenberg Strandbad goes back a long way.
As early as 1937 the first building was completed in the same place where the present hotel is located. The hotel was built in the so-called "functional style" and had an elegant rounded restaurant with large picture windows facing the sea.  The hotel experienced from the beginning a era of greatness that lasted until World War II´s beginning. Here sunbathers crowded from the interior with statesmen and other celebrities. A visit to the Falkenberg Strandbad was associated with style and flair.

Everybody traveled to sea.
Once the war was over, mass tourism grew in Sweden like never before. "Everybody" went to the sea and Strandbaden was at the heart of this "invasion". After Beach is not a phenomenon that has recently occurred, but even at that time they gathered for musical entertainment after a day in the sun.

A big fire occurred
In 1958 the hotel was ravaged by a devastating fire. This stylish hotel was now just a memory. However the following year, they built a new hotel but clearly the funk style was forever gone, and had now been replaced by it´s time a modern hotel. Tell me the joy that lasts forever, once again the hotel was damaged by fire and a part of the hotel was destroyed. They rapidly repaired the parts that had been destroyed, and left the undamaged parts in its prior condition.
Inaugurated in 1992
During the 80´s Strandbaden was run by the municipality of Falkenberg but the hotel lapsed more and more. In the end it was a disgrace to Falkenberg and the municipality gave in the late 80´s green light for a new hotel project. After two years of construction the hotel had been built together with the hotel Klitterbadet and the inauguration took place in April 1992. It is, therefore, this hotel seen from all directions along the wide, sandy beach.
